It’s no secret we’re huge fans of Benjamin Alire Sáenz at Vamos a Leer. Last year our book group read Sammy & Juliana in Hollywood, and this past February we read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. We absolutely loved both of them. So you can imagine how excited we were when we found out he’s going to be in Santa Fe!!
Named one of 2010’s “Fifty of the Most Inspiring Authors in the World” by Poets & Writers magazine, Sáenz studied philosophy and theology and was a Wallace E. Stegner fellow in poetry at Stanford University. Born in Old Picacho, New Mexico in 1954, Sáenz has been a member of the faculty at the University of Texas at El Paso since 1992.
Sáenz will be at The Lensic in Santa Fe on Wednesday April 16th at 7:00 pm as part of the Lannan Foundation presents Readings & Conversations. Tickets are only 5 dollars! Come and join us for what I’m sure will be a wonderful night! Click here for more information.
Hope to see you there!!

Hi Katrina, – I’m looking forward to seeing you in Santa Fe next month. In the meantime,
we’re thinking about reading Demetria Martinez’ book, “The Block Captain’s Daughter” for our Women’s class. Do you have any materials for teaching it? Any extra copies? We need about 10. Please call me when you can. My number is 980-1914.
Florence
Hi Florence-
So looking forward to next month too! We may do dinner before, so we’ll let you know in case you’d like to join us.
We may have a few copies, I’ll call you and we can talk more!
