Thanks so much to all of you who have visited our blog and shared your thoughts with us!! These are our five lucky winners–Marilyn, Dan, Martha, Doris and Yleana!  I’ll be emailing you to find out where you would like us to ship the book, so be on the lookout for that!

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy the book!

Our next give away starts today and runs through September 16th!! This time we’re giving away 5 copies of The Dreamer by Pam Muñoz Ryan.  It’s a great book–one of those rare books that could be relevant for elementary through high school! All you have to do to be entered is comment on any post between now and September 16th.

We’ll continue to do a drawing for 5 copies of each book we feature in our book group each month, so keep checking back and sharing with us!

  1. I enjoyed our discussion of Sammy and Juliana in Hollywood by Benjamin Alire Saenz! The book is super interesting and portrays each character precisely! It is loaded with details of the barrio life, high school realities, the sadness of living that life, the reality of poverty, and a descriptive analysis of growing up as a Chicano in the 1960s. I am working on using the books you suggest each month in my classroom. Many thanks for your research and selection of outstanding Hispanic literature!

I am extremely interested in having my name added to the list of possible candidates to receive The Dreamer by Pam Munoz Ryan.

    • It was great having you at our bookgroup meeting! So glad that you enjoyed our first book group meeting and Sammy & Juliana! It’s one of my new favorites that I recommend to almost anyone looking for a good novel now. I can’t wait to hear what you think of The Queen of Water! The Dreamer is an absolutely beautiful book too–entirely different from our first two selections. You’ll have to keep us updated on how it goes incorporating these books into your classroom!
